Malaria is a serious threat in South Sudan, but SSNEP+ is working hard to change that. We focus on several key areas to prevent malaria, diagnose cases quickly, and ensure proper treatment.

Our malaria program distributes Insecticide-Treated Mosquito Nets (ITMNs) to vulnerable communities, conducts rapid diagnostic testing, and works with health facilities to ensure access to antimalarial medicines for PLHIV who are especially susceptible.

SSNeP+ conducts community outreach programs including targeted provider and client-initiated HIV testing services, awareness campaigns, and links newly diagnosed individuals to treatment and support groups across South Sudan.

Tuberculosis

South Sudan faces a significant challenge in tackling the public health issues of HIV and Tuberculosis (TB). The South Sudan Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (SSNeP) plays a crucial role in addressing this dual burden through its impactful two-pronged approach.

SSNeP+ coordinates TB screening among PLHIV, supports TB preventive therapy, and works with national health authorities to integrate TB/HIV services at community and facility levels.

For SSNeP+ to achieve or work toward ensuring high-quality community-based HIV prevention, treatment, care, and retention services in line with the 95-95-95 targets of UNAIDS, SSNeP+ program team had developed key quality assurance mechanisms that effectively contributed to the results achieved for the past 5 years.

Stigma & Discrimination — "Silence Can Be Damaging"

Accelerating Support to Eliminate Health Facility-Based Multiple Layers of Stigma and Discrimination that Impact People Living with HIV (PLHIV) in Juba County, South Sudan.

Multiple layers of stigma and discrimination in healthcare settings are significant barriers to accessing quality healthcare services for people living with HIV among key populations including people with disabilities, migrants, and displaced people in Juba County, South Sudan.

This project aims to implement comprehensive and innovative initiatives to reduce the multiple layers of stigma and discrimination in 10 selected healthcare facilities providing HIV treatment, care, and prevention services in Juba County. By combating healthcare facility-based stigma and discrimination, SSNeP+ will contribute to fostering an inclusive and safe environment within healthcare facilities so that every individual receives equitable, quality healthcare services.
